Too bad I will have used up all my good blog material this week. Hmm. Anyways, on the way back from St. Simon’s last weekend, I wanted to go see the Inn at Palmetto Bluff, which is one of the top rated inns in the world in one of the smallest towns. Go figure. I was hoping I could shamelessly name drop a newspaper and hope I could get in. Fortunately, they allow visitors.

So it turns out that Palmetto Bluff is a residential area akin to Charleston’s I’On between Beaufort and Hilton Head Island. The Inn just happens to be one part of a sprawling township.

I got to walk around for a while and was just amazed at the beauty. I definitely understand why the Inn has won so many awards: Travel + Leisure‘s Number One Resort in U.S. & Canada as well as Number Fourteen in the World; Conde Nast Traveler‘s Top Spas, Best Hotels, Reader’s Choice #8; and multiple awards for the golf course.
I am officially in love.
But the prices are not for the faint of heart. Rates start at $475/night for the off-season in the smallest cottages. They only go up from there to over $10,000.

However, the amenities are great. Plasma screen televisions, Italian linens, wireless internet, access to golf courts and spa, and countless dining options.
I also stopped in downtown Bluffton to check out some stores. This place had lots of nicknacks and jewelry.
