On our Great American Road Trip, we did something no other traveler should attempt- trying to see all of Boston in one day. We had to make sacrifices, but we all mentioned at least one thing we wanted to do.
For my dad, it was Fenway, home of the Boston Red Sox. This much was no brainer. I fell in love with Fever Pitch and as a Braves fan, I share the same motto as Red Sox fans: “I cheer for [my team] and whoever is playing the Yankees.”
After our tour of the stadium, we walked down Yawkey Way to Boston Beer Works, where I, of course, had to sample one of the brews. I ordered the blueberry beer, which came with a dozen Maine blueberries floating into it.
I got to check my item off the list next at the Museum of Fine Arts, which was a good break from the summer heat. MFA had an impressive collection of the “big ones” from my art history classes: Monet’s “Water Lillies,” The Ishtar Gate, Degas’ “The Dancer,” Menkare and Khameranebty.
After a short drive through Charlestown’s historic brownstones and the Bunker Hill monument, we went to Quincy Market to explore.
For dinner, we discovered Boston’s Little Italy, the North End, which is still very much authentic, unlike that of New York. Dinner at Express served as the perfect farewell meal to our whirlwind tour of Boston.
