The aisles of the night market, selling goods on the steps of the temple
I had already spent almost two weeks in rural Northern Thailand when I got back to Chiang Mai just in time for the Sunday Night Walking Street market. Unlike the touristy Night Bazaar, which happens every night, the Sunday market is mostly locals.
I was overwhelmed by the crowds and the hundreds of items to look at. Knockoff backpacks, bugs, t-shirts and everything else you could want. Thankfully, I had Nueng and Nathan to help me navigate successfully. I ended up buying 2 headbands, a journal and a wooden elephant for around $5 US. It’s probably not somewhere you could go for one specific item, but you never know what you will find there.

Heading back to Thailand and going to Chiang Mai in a few months. Thanks for the tip on the local market! Can't wait to see it for myself!

Thank you for tips! I going to Chiang Mai Nov and stumble upon this website offering 4 days 3 nights stay in Shangri-La Hotel in Chiang Mai for only US$99 net inclusive airport transfer and breakfast. Have anyone already tried if it’s a real thing or it’s a scam?
