Last week, mom and Rachel and I went to downtown historic Roswell, a neighboring suburb of Atlanta, for a quick bite to eat (with a coupon) at Relish. My lunch was only okay, but we got to wander around the town, which I love.
There was some sort of festival going on. There was a dance troupe and a guy on stage playing “Why Georgia.” I felt bad for him because it had to be at least 90 degrees.
There are lots of beautiful historic homes in Roswell, including this one, Barrington Hall. It is an antebellum home once owned by the founders of Roswell.

Mom told me to pose and to tell people this is our house…are you fooled?
This house is the “Roswell White House” of President Jimmy Carter. I do love me some Jimmy. Happy Photo Friday, y’all!

Barrington Hall is not a “beautiful antebellum home” that you should be proud of taking a picture in front or wishing it was your home. It is a slave plantation where many men, women and children lost their lives. Women were raped there. This history of Roswell Georgia (founded by Roswell King who was the overseer of the Pierce Butler plantation) is one of horror and shame. That home is nothing more than a African-American holocaust museum.
