*I know I’ve been slacking on the blog posts, but I’ve finally uploaded the pictures to accompany this post.
One day last week, I didn’t have to work until 6, so Tommy and I went to the Rocks Markets in the city. Before exploring the many stalls, we had lunch at Lowenbrau, the kitsch-fueled German beer hall. The waiters were decked out in the usual Bavarian garb and the oompa pah band played loudly.
My budget didn’t afford me a $15 stein of beer, but I did get a bratwurst and fries that were delicious. Not an ideal lunch spot if you don’t want to yell “What?” every other word, but the innate touristiness (did I just make that up?) gives it charm.
The Rocks Market stretches through a couple of streets but Argyle Street is the place to start. I saw booths of books, jewelry, hot sauce, rocks and any other oddity you can imagine. I saw many things that I liked, but I didn’t purchase anything, yet again trying to stick to my budget.

I love The Rocks market!!! I am usually not a buyer of crafts and crap, but I couldn’t help myself on a few things here:-).
Try a food stall next time, a little cheaper then the permanent restaurants.
Looking forward to more Sydney posts!!
