I received some nice feedback from the Behind the Curtain series, so I’m excited to continue! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. I’ve added a section to include random objects I’m loving, in this case, jewelry, and didn’t have anything new for “listening” or “social media.” Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!
Reading
I’ve been slow moving in reading this month. I have a subscription to The Atlantic and New York magazine and I admit that they sit on my floor for weeks before I actually get around to reading them or even flipping through. Must work on this in the future! But I did start The Girl on the Train during a flight delay on my way to New York. I only read a chapter, but I need to dive in further.
Loving
I bought myself some treats this month to reward myself for a tough summer, including a few new items of clothing and a necklace on clearance sale at Rent the Runway, a double-chained triangle piece from House of Harlow. I also got a necklace from my sister for my birthday, pictured right, that reminds me of Charleston. Also on the list of things I’m loving is adult coloring books, which I use to calm down or pass the time.
I’m also loving some new features on the site, including this awesome interactive map on my Destinations page! Go check it out.
Watching
My life is empty now that Mr. Robot is over, but I’m still working my way through Buffy/Angel and just started watching Broad City on my flight home from New York. It has all the realness of a show like Girls without all the drama. Plus, it’s actually funny.
Working
I spent this month editing a piece I submitted last month to Where Atlanta to polish it up. I also finished this quarter’s updates on my Afar guide to Atlanta. I submitted a piece to a publication I’ve written for before and am working on a piece for one of my favorite publications that I hope to discuss more soon! And as always, I’m cranking out posts for Her Packing List and This Is My South as well as this one.

Travels
I’m not ashamed to admit that this month was exhausting, as I was away for much of it. I worked every day in July and went straight to London afterward with only two weeks before going back to work in New York. I had to deal with a long day of flight delays where a day that should have been a 6 hour travel day tops turned into 12 hours, with 2 sitting on the runway.
But it was so good to see so many friends in New York and I fit in social calls with every spare hour. I also had a bit of a staycation here in Atlanta for Labor Day and my sister’s birthday that I will mention in a future post.
Next up is a brief trip to Orlando for Travel Industry Exchange followed by a few trips around Georgia!

I do the same things with magazines. I have every edition of The Collective magazine (bar one..) and have only read half of them as I’m trying to make 2015 the year of reading books… we shall not discuss my progress on this…
I LOVE that House of Harlow necklace! And what a sweet present from your sister. :)
Enjoy the rest of summer!

OOOOH, I remember what I was going to comment now (distracted by the (Adelaide) Crows (AFL) playing in the finals!)
I picked up some of those adult colouring books when I was in America and I’m REALLY enjoying them. In fact, the other night I lost four hours to colouring… but I went to bed feeling totally chill. ^^;

@Nicole
It took me all day to read one of my magazines today! My progress has been sorry as well in regards to reading books. I was doing that Popsugar challenge but am utterly failing. Thanks! Love these necklaces. Adult coloring books are amazing and I think are going to become even more popular soon.
Come back to America soon!
