I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
I’ll admit that I’ve been slacking hard on reading. I signed up for the Popsugar Challenge but have only read 8 books this year. Talk about a fail. But I will say that they’ve all been books I’ve greatly enjoyed. Last year, I had a lot of down time when I was traveling but it wasn’t the same this year. Maybe I’ll do better in 2016! Check out my Goodreads Profile here.
I have, however, been reading a lot of great posts all over the web. Some of my favorites this month were about being an expat by my friend Expat Edna, which talks about how living abroad has made her into her best self.
And while I never made it to this particular cart, I loved this post on Legal Nomads about her beloved smoothie stall in Chiang Mai, Thailand. On the (recently rebranded!) blog Free Candie, Candice talks about what she wishes she knew before university, something I can relate to.
Listening
Like I mentioned last month, I’ve been playing Adele’s “Hello” on repeat, but now I have the entire album. But the newest podcast I’ve been listening to is by my friend Michael of Time Travel Turtle. In Leaders of Travel, he interviews important people in the industry like Richard Quest and the CEO of WOW Air. Check out the latest here.
Loving
I’m loving a lot of travel gear this month and in case you haven’t yet, enter to win some of it in my Caroline’s Favorite Things giveaway! I’m also in love with my new Stanley gear, especially my insulated pint that I’ve used for beer and hot toddies. Get your own here.
While I don’t want to spend money on the ClassPass, I’ve been doing it on my own. This month I tried Sky Gym, a place that runs aerial yoga, silks dance classes and other forms of fitness. It’s only $25 to drop in!
And last but not least, I’m in love with the Mexican goodies I had in Texas like tamales, pastries and Topo Chico. I learned how to make tamales and even brought some home for dinner. Now I just have to find a place to buy the ingredients locally!
Working
I’m so excited that my piece for Where Atlanta‘s annual guestbook is finally out! It was many months in the making. You can find it online here or in Atlanta area hotel rooms. I’ve also sent out some new pitches for clients I’ve done some work for and also new ones including an airline blog. I’m very excited about it! Traveling
The end of November and December has been surprisingly busy. I usually don’t travel during this time of year because of my other job, but this year I’ve been able to accept spots on trips. I went to central Louisiana to see their nationally ranked holiday lights and to San Antonio to check out the surprisingly hip city.
Next up is a long weekend in Myrtle Beach to cover for This Is My South. This trip has been many months in the making but I’ve finally set aside the time. I’ve spent a lot of time there over the years, especially when I lived only two hours away in Charleston, but I’m excited to see it as a tourist.
While I have a few things on the docket for 2016, I’m slowing down for the next few weeks. I’ll be in New York City for the New York Times Travel Show and will be in Tennessee and Georgia in February. Beyond that, who knows!
