I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
I had forgotten that I pre-ordered Amy Schumer’s book a while back so it was a pleasant surprise when I saw it in my Kindle last week. The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo is what you’d expect from her, or Chelsea Handler or Amy Poehler and all the funny ladies, but with an added layer of depth.
There are moments when she talks about real, serious stuff and others where you’re trying not to burst into a fit of laughter on a flight. I’m about halfway through it now thanks to some long travel days recently. To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here.
Listening
It’s been a throwback month for me in music. There’s an excellent Amazon Prime Music playlist called Feel Good Classic Soul that has all the greats: Otis, Ray, Sam, and Stevie. It gets me pumped in the morning and is perfect for the background as I work. I also just discovered Ryan Adams Live at Carnegie Hall, also through Prime, of my favorite musician performing in one of his favorite places. Is anyone else a fan?
Watching
I finally finished watching Gossip Girl, which was pretty anticlimactic. But I’ve also binged on the entirety of Stranger Things, which I highly recommend (filmed in Georgia, y’all!). On “real” television, the true crime geek in me has been following MTV’s Uncovering the Truth, which investigates multiple wrongful convictions told from a young man who spent years serving a sentence for a crime he didn’t commit.
And in a universe where travel shows are getting rarer, Jack and Ozzy’s World Detour on the History channel is excellent. I was a big fan of The Osbournes and I love their dynamic. Give it a watch!
Loving
If you travel as much as I do and can never be too far away from a caffeinated beverage, check out Pique Tea. Far more than “instant tea,” the company makes crystallized tea in multiple styles. Simply mix in with hot water and you’re ready to go. The mixed pack they sent me to try has come in handy many times already. You can get a free trial to test out their varieties by visiting their website.
Working
This has been a manic month of work. I’m currently working on content for a to be announced project, the next issue of The Knot and updating guides for Afar. I’ve pitched so many new publications and am working on a few blogs for companies. Let’s hope the work continues! See what else I’m working on via my Contently profile.
Traveling
What a month of travel. It started off with a week working a trade show in New York City, when I got to see some of my pals and eat all the good food. From there, I went to Gulf Shores, Alabama for a press trip and finished my first (sprint) triathlon!
A few days later, I was back in Atlanta for the Georgia Governor’s Conference on Tourism, where I was on a panel about working with media. Then I hit the road with some of my favorite PR folks for Natchez, Mississippi where we’re speaking on the same topic at the Mississippi Governor’s Conference on Tourism. Whew! Next week will be a time of rest. Up next are some trips around the south including Florida and Georgia!

Hi Caroline,
It sounds like you had a busy but great month! That show Uncovering The Truth sounds really interesting… I will have to look for that on my TV!
