I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
I’m quickly trying to finish The Handmaid’s Tale so that my mom and I can watch the Hulu series, but I’m also trying to decide which of my many downloaded titles I want to read next. Perhaps something non-fiction? When my face isn’t stuck in my Kindle, I’ve recently discovered the Hunt a Killer blog.
The company makes a subscription box service for wannabe home detectives, but they also have a website that talks about some of the world’s most notorious crimes. Give it a read! To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here.
Listening
No, I haven’t given up my true crime habit. Quite the opposite. The folks at Up and Vanished recently launched Sworn, a podcast that goes into the criminal law side of these infamous crimes. I’ve already subscribed and can’t wait to see it show up in my feed. I’ve also started listening to Serial Killers, which features two-part stories about notorious murderers. I found the segments on H. H. Holmes to be especially spooky.
Watching
Since Game of Thrones comes back in July, I’ve been re-watching the last season and am trying to keep all the storylines straight. It’s easier said than done! And after finishing Daredevil season 2, I’ve moved onto Iron Fist, which isn’t quite as compelling as its Defenders counterparts so far. But I’ll give it a chance. Finally, I’ve started on the latest season of Orange is the New Black. After coming down with a cold, it’s been a binge-watch few days.
Loving
As if I needed another map, but my friends at Landmass Goods sent me a new one to display in my new apartment. Like the popular scratch-off map series, the National Parks map lets you track your visits. I’m excited to add to my scratches this month! A
nd I’m also loving Maybelline’s Great Lash in Royal Blue. I received the mascara in an Influenster box and wear it more than black now. I also recently purchased a new phone to use as my camera since my iPhone 4 has gone downhill. The Sony Xperia has lived up to my expectations thus far! Its my first Android and it’s unlocked so I can use it overseas, even if I can’t yet use it through my cell phone provider.
Traveling
This month saw a gradual slowing of my travels for a few weeks, apart from a few day trips to Chattanooga, a bachelorette weekend in Charleston, and one night in Dahlonega. After a friend’s wedding this weekend, I’m off for my busy summer season, starting with 9 days in Wyoming and South Dakota for the Society of American Travel Writers Eastern Chapter meeting. I’ll be road tripping through the Black Hills on my way. I’ll leave for another trip shortly after returning home.
Working
I recently calculated my earnings from the last few months and they’ve been my best to date! If only I could stop spending money… My work for Explore Georgia has continued and I’ve had a second piece accepted by Ravishly. I’m winding down my work with Simply Buckhead to focus on other projects, but you can still see my work in the June and July issues. I had a Pride-themed post published by Hotel Indigo’s blog and have been working on my book before my July writer’s retreat. See what else I’m working on via my Contently profile.
