I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
I’m now almost halfway through my second attempt at reading Atonement. This was a bit of a crazy month for family and medical reasons, so I didn’t have as much time to read as I normally would. But I’ll try to do better this month. To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here (which is also my author page!).
Listening
Long trips have made me need new podcasts. I’m all done with this season of Atlanta Monster but have recently started Mafia and Conspiracy Theories. I usually learn about one when it advertises on another. The Swagger playlist on Spotify has also been on repeat at my house. I’m getting ready to go to High Water music festival in Charleston next week, so I’ve also been listening to the artists performing there like Brandi Carlisle and Shovels & Rope.
Watching
I’m in the second season binge-athon for most shows at his point, including The Crown (MATTHEW GOODE ILU) and Jessica Jones. I’ve admittedly also been watching old episodes of Dawson’s Creek because nostalgia. The Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead crossover episode is quickly approaching (follow #sheriffkingwidow on Twitter if you’re a fan!), so that’s on my mind.
I recently got into Harlots, a show on Hulu about a brothel in turn of the century England. If you watch The Resident, you might have spotted the back of my head in episodes 8 and 9!
Loving
I cut off my hair! It was getting to be really thick and heavy. As much as other people liked it, it’s nice to have something short for the summer months. And I also got a few dresses from Unique Vintage, a store I recently discovered that carries all sorts of sexy vintage-inspired clothing and swimwear for girls with curves like myself.
I recommend sizing up because one of my pieces is snugger than the other. I also bought a CBD Bath bomb and am officially addicted.
Traveling
The month started with a short trip to the Hike Inn in North Georgia, a lodge only accessible by a 5 mile hike. I wanted to make sure I was ready for my upcoming trip to Peru. From there, I spent over a week traipsing around Mississippi, which unfortunately came at a bad time. But I still enjoyed my visits to Jackson, Vicksburg, and Biloxi.
I said I wasn’t going anywhere in April apart from an already planned trip to Charleston. But then a few others came up. I’m currently exploring Delaware’s Quaint Villages, in Kent County, and will follow it up with a visit to Guadalajara and Tequila in Mexico.
Working
I’ve sent out more pitches this month than ever before and thankfully a few were accepted. In addition to my pieces for Explore Georgia, I’ve got a few stories coming up in 17 South, the UK’s Evening Standard, and Fodor’s. I’m working on a big content project right now that I’ll mention next month. See what else I’m working on via my Contently profile.
