I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
I’m still working on Atonement, which I’ve probably been reading for two months. I have a bunch of books saved on my Kindle, so I’m hoping to catch up on my reading challenge while traveling this month. Do you have something to recommend? To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here (which is also my author page!).
Listening
I loved my time in Charleston seeing some of my favorite bands in one place. My visit also coincided with Record Store Day, so my sister and I went to Monster Music to pick up some vinyl. I bought Leon Bridges and Cover Stories, an album of Brandi Carlisle covers from other great artists (Dolly Parton! Adele!) that benefits War Child.
I’ve also been trying out some new/old podcasts because I’ve run out of my favorites. I finally gave My Favorite Murder a chance and am also enjoying Buried Truths, which is made by my local NPR affiliate. I’m also excited to be going to a Tenderfoot TV (the folks behind Atlanta Monster and Up and Vanished) event with Greg Mike, one of my favorite local artists.
Watching
It took watching it on demand to finally get into it, but I’m officially on board with Fear the Walking Dead. I thought the second and third seasons were excellent and am really excited about some of the new cast members. I’m also excited about the second season of Westworld, which I watched in its entirety on the flight back from Israel.
The season finale of UnReal was fantastic and I think the next season will be off the rails. I’ve also finally started watching The Handmaid’s Tale now that the second season is almost out. I fell off the Jessica Jones wagon, but will eventually get back into it. Also on my to-watch list is Wild, Wild Country (cults!) and Black Mirror.
Loving
A trip to Charleston means shopping and I certainly put a dent in my wallet. I got some great stuff from Exchange Factor, a sprawling vintage store. On my way home, I stopped by Final Cut in Augusta and got a record table I’d been eyeing from Urban Outfitters (similar model here).
Now that full eyebrows are trendy, I’ve started to let mine grow out. I recently tested out the Kat Von D eyebrow pomade that fills in in matching shades to your hair. You can even choose funky colors and it’s 100% vegan.
Traveling
I really should have chilled out this month, but ended up spending a few days in Delaware, which I’ll be talking about soon. Then I went to Mexico, a trip I absolutely loved, but sort of ended in a downer because back home my parents had to put our dog down. But she was a sweet gal who was almost 17. Then I immediately went to Charleston for a music festival. Apart from some crazy rain, it was a restorative trip in my former home.
Next up is two weeks in Peru, which is my big trip for the year. I only have the first few days planned, including a brief Inca Trail hike, so be sure to give me your tips! Then immediately after arriving home, I’m off to Greenville, South Carolina for my oldest friend’s wedding. Hopefully the rest of May will be calm afterwards.
Working
I haven’t had much time to pitch new stories because of existing contracts with two different companies. But I’m still waiting on a few stories to come out. This month, I wrote about the globally inspired locations in Gwinnett County for 17 South and stylish hotels for Explore Georgia. See what else I’m working on via my Contently profile.
