I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
Yes, I finally finished reading Atonement last month. The ending was a bit anti-climactic for me since there were inane passages throughout that could have been cut. Since I was traveling much of the month, I had a lot of time to read and finished Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur, How to Murder Your Life by Cat Marnell, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou.
Milk and Honey was good and lived up to most of the hype. I found myself highlighting many passages. I did not enjoy HTMYL and the reviews are accurate. I have no idea why I never read Angelou before! This book is incredible. Now I’ve moved onto The Rules Do Not Apply by Ariel Levy. Listening
I’ve had a lot of time for podcasts this month, which helped keep me sane while hiking the Inca Trail. Current favorites are Armchair Expert with Dax Shepherd, My Favorite Murder, and The Thread with Ozy, which is telling interesting stories about feminism. I’ve also gotten into new albums by Nathaniel Rateliff and Leon Bridges.
Watching
While in Peru, my Netflix and Amazon Prime were working, so I ended up finishing Jessica Jones and watching a few episodes of The Man in the High Castle, The Last Tycoon, and American Playboy.
I also got into Six Feet Under, by the creator of True Blood, another favorite of mine. Southern Charm is back on, so I’ve started watching again. And I’ve finally caved and gotten into Riverdale. I finally understand the hype!
Loving
I got some new gear from Prana and I’ve got a discount code for my readers!
Traveling
Traveling around Peru was definitely a dream come true, despite my hesitation and anxiety right before I left. I was lucky to have some great experiences and meet a nice crew of people to explore with. Afterward, I was a hot mess at a friend’s wedding in Greenville.
Needless to say, I’m glad to stay close to home for a while. But I’m going to Florida for a conference this week. Thankfully, I’ll be done with most of my work and can finally relax. I don’t have any trips beyond that planned for June, which is much needed for my mental health.
Working
The book I’ve been working on for almost a year comes out July 15! I finally got to see the cover and now it’s available for pre-order on Amazon. My story for Fodor’s finally went up and I also continued work for Explore Georgia. See what else I’m working on via my Contently profile.
