I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
I’ve become the worst at impulse purchasing books and never getting around to reading them. But this month, I ditched everything else I was reading to start This Will Only Hurt a Little from Busy Phillips. I’m about halfway through and so far I’m finding a lot of feelings I’ve had put into print.
I finally purchased a secondhand copy of Stephen King’s On Writing, which is probably the book most recommended for aspiring writers, apart from The Elements of Style. He has some great insights, even if you’re not into his novels. I also won a copy of Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, that I can’t wait to start. To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here (which is also my author page!).
Listening
Did you hear me on my friends’ podcast, 365 Atlanta Traveler’s Blogger Help Podcast? These two experts talk every week about working with bloggers and influencers, so I weighed in about what it’s like to be a millennial travel blogger and how best to work with them.
A friend recently clued me into Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, a show that gives the books the same reverence as a religious text, going into each chapter and line and its meaning. The Color Line Murders also describes some of the brutal lynchings that took place in the South, an important listen.
Watching
I’m still obsessing over the new seasons of The Walking Dead and Riverdale, but that’s not all! I’m also sucked into the new season of Daredevil. But The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is certainly a new favorite with the darkness of Riverdale but with a supernatural element.
I also love seeing Kiernan Shipka all grown up after her years on Mad Men. If you haven’t yet seen A Star is Born, prepare yourself. It sunk me into a weeklong depression afterward so you’ve been warned.
Loving
I loved attending The Moth Story Slam and the Girls Gotta Eat live show this month and am excited for My Favorite Murder next week. I got into the Halloween spirit at the Little Five Points Halloween Parade and Walker Stalker Con (love being part of this fan community), as well as Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando.
I’ve already gone apple picking and am taking part in all the basic fall activities. But what I’m most loving is the potential of this coming election. Early voting is still going on so GO VOTE!
Working
I’ve been doing a lot of work for Explore Georgia and a couple of other Georgia destinations that I’m pretty excited about, as well as for Eagle Creek. I’m starting to send out new pitches for the coming months as well. In the meantime, I did a recent influencer project for Visit Dunwoody, a suburb of Atlanta, and will be looking to pitch similar projects in the future.
And, oh yeah, my book came out a month ago today. It’s been a whirlwind so far, but if you got a copy, please consider reviewing it on Amazon or Goodreads. I’m currently putting together a book tour of sorts, so if you’d like me to come to your local store, send me an email and stay tuned to my professional website, CarolineEubanks.com. See what else I’m working on via my Contently profile (and hire me!).
Traveling
I started the month with a sponsored staycation in Dunwoody, a neighborhood about 15 minutes from my house. I was able to visit some attractions I’d never even heard of, like the nature center pictured above where I got to hang out in a hammock. From there, I went on a weekend trip to Universal with my pal Jessica. We got to stay at the new Aventura Hotel and experience Halloween Horror Nights.
Sadly, I had to cancel my trip to Panama City Beach, Florida because of the devastating hurricane, but I hope to reschedule for 2019. I’m writing this post from a tea shop in Chattanooga, where I’m visiting my sister for Halloween. Thankfully I have nothing on the horizon in terms of travel for November!
