I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
Listening
At any given moment, I am listening to a dozen or so podcasts. I finally finished The Teacher’s Pet, which went slow for me but I did enjoy it. I loved the recent Criminal episode about the Winchester Mystery House. I also just started Trashy Divorces, which focuses on two notable people from history and their messy personal lives. The first one focused on Rudy Giuliani, a real trash bag, and Henry the VIII.
Watching
I wasn’t sure what to expect from all the commercials and ads for I Am the Night, especially as they didn’t really tell you what the show was about apart from the connection to The Black Dahlia murder. But after watching it I’m fascinated by the story of the likely killer of Elizabeth Short and his granddaughter Fauna Hodel.
Also on the dark end of the viewing spectrum, the second season of The Punisher is now out on Netflix. It’s not for the squeamish as there is a lot of blood, but I LOVE Jon Bernthal and Ben Barnes.
Loving
I loved catching up with friends in New York a few weeks back as it was nice to have everybody in one place. I also got to eat some delicious stuff like real Chinese dumplings and a massive hot chicken biscuit. I ate Rudy’s free hot dogs and drank cheap beer. AND I went to the Harry Potter exhibit at the New York Historical Society, which was fantastic. I especially loved the free audio guide from Audible, narrated by Natalie Dormer. What’s not to love?
Working
You might have heard a little something about a “big game” happening in Atlanta. I worked on a bunch of Super Bowl-related content for my clients and it’s safe to say I’m over it, especially the absurd press releases. I also covered film tourism in the city for Hilton and packing duffel bags for Eagle Creek. I’m also excited because I placed a story I’ve been working on for a while with a pretty big publication. I know that’s vague, but I’ll be posting it as soon as I can.
I also spent a day volunteering with 48 in 48 for their Super Bowl-related Super Service event. This group organizes teams to spend 48 hours putting together websites for non-profits. I worked on content with my Ladies Work Remote group and we came in third! There are hackathons throughout the country that need all sorts of skills, so get involved.
I have two more book events scheduled for March in Memphis and Richmond, so if you’re interested in attending, visit my professional
website, CarolineEubanks.com, for more information. Speaking of my book, if you got a copy, please consider reviewing it on Amazon or Goodreads. See what else I’m working on via my Contently profile (and hire me!).
Traveling
I had a book signing in Miami last month so I got a brief taste of sunshine and mojitos, but then I was back home to repack for New York. I attended a travel conference, caught up with fellow bloggers and writers, and tried not to freeze to death.
After some much-needed time back home, I’m packing my jobs for my big trip of the year, one I’ve been waiting to cross off my list for years: South Africa! I got an insanely good deal from Scott’s Cheap Flights ($500 round trip Atlanta to Johannesburg!), so I’ll be spending the next month exploring. Send me all your tips!
