I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
Thanks to some truly long bus rides, I finally finished It’s Just a Fking Date. It was very similar to He’s Just Not That Into You but had some good information for someone like me that overthinks everything. I very quickly read Born a Crime, which is an incredible look into Trevor Noah’s upbringing in South Africa.
I’m currently reading Come As You Are, a research book about women’s sexuality, and some other true crime books. To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here (which is also my author page!).
Listening
This was a good month for trying new podcasts. Before I forget, I’ve launched a podcast for my other website, This Is My South, which will tell some weird and wacky stories from the region. You can learn more about it on the website. I’ve also been enjoying Root of Evil, a podcast by the Hodel family, known for its association to The Black Dahlia, and To Live and Die in LA, about a model who went missing in Hollywood.
Watching
All of my favorite shows came back right before I left for South Africa, so I’m behind on everything. But I am currently enjoying the last season of Broad City (noooo!), The Walking Dead (Samantha Morton!), and The Challenge: War of the Worlds. Yes, my tastes are diverse.
Loving
I never thought I would be so pro-Uber Eats, but being in South Africa has changed the game. I arrived late one night in Johannesburg when the power was out and I was starving. I ended up having Nando’s delivered because it wasn’t safe to wander around in search of food. I have since had a few meals delivered when I was either lazy or cautious.
Working
I’m thankful that I got so much work done before I left because the Internet hasn’t exactly been reliable. I finished my usual work for my tourism clients but have been falling behind on the blog. I also heard some bad news that Contently, a company I’ve worked with repeatedly, will now start charging me a fee to take out my own money. I’ll no longer be recommending them until this changes.
I have two more book events scheduled for March in Memphis and Richmond, so if you’re interested in attending, visit my professional website, CarolineEubanks.com, for more information. Speaking of my book, if you got a copy, please consider reviewing it on Amazon or Goodreads.
Traveling
South Africa has been incredible. I can’t believe it’s almost time for me to leave. My time in Johannesburg started off rocky (more on this soon), but I met some amazing people on my Kruger trip. Since then, I’ve been traveling the coast. I started with a few days in Durban, followed by some days disconnecting in Chintsa. I have a few more stops before Cape Town, the destination I’ve been looking forward to.
