If you’re a single girl in your twenties, you’re sure to attend a bachelorette party, or weekend, at some point. I’ve been to my fair share and even planned one. So I’ve taken what I’ve learned to put together this post on how to have your own pre-bridal bash in the Hostess City, also known as Savannah, Georgia.

Where to Eat in Savannah
Savannah is a great place for a bachelorette weekend because there’s no shortage of delightful places to eat. Some are well-known in the historic district while others are neighborhood hangouts. Scour OpenTable for even more recommendations, especially as new places are opening constantly.
Best for Breakfast
Back In The Day Bakery is a favorite in the Starland District run by a James Beard-nominated couple. Enjoy a Southern-style biscuit or sandwich before snapping photos at the nearby Gingerbread House.
Shuga Girl is an Instagrammable cafe great for quick and healthy dishes like salads and wraps. But they also have lattes, bubble tea, and even cocktails like frosé and mimosas.
Superbloom hosts the shopping tours and has locally made gifts. But they also make funky drinks like turmeric and matcha lattes to cool you down as well as Perc Coffee. The superfood latte is the perfect way to counteract a hangover.
Best for Lunch
Zunzi’s Fox and Fig
Fox & Fig Cafe is a cozy and plant-based eatery with Perc Coffee and healthy takes on your favorite dishes. Avocado toast and “chicken” and waffles are two highlights.
Zunzi’s is a takeout-only eatery on Oglethorpe Square with hearty South African-inspired sandwiches. Grab one of their Conquistador sandwiches to enjoy on a park bench or nosh on while you get ready in your room.
Fire Street Food near Chippewa Square has your favorite Asian fusion dishes like pad Thai, sushi rolls, and panko-breaded chicken sandwiches. There’s also a full bar menu.
Best for Dinner
The Grey Cha Bella
The Grey is the city’s most talked-about restaurant and worth the acclaim. Located in a former Greyhound bus station, you can enjoy craft cocktails in their former lobby before dining on dishes inspired by the South and its ingredients.
Cha Bella is a farm to table restaurant that offers a little bit of everything, from seafood to pasta. Don’t miss the craft cocktails and extensive wine list. If the weather allows, enjoy your meal on their cozy patio.
The Wyld Dock Bar is outside the city but offers waterfront dining with incredible sunsets. Chow down on fresh, local seafood as well as Southern sides, cocktails, and sangria.
Best for Brunch
Collins Quarter The Gryphon
Mirabelle serves Belgian-style Liege waffles, quiche, pastries, and hearty sandwiches alongside coffee and tea. They also have their own guest suites upstairs.
The Collins Quarter is known for its Aussie style coffees and avocado toast. Grab a seat outside, weather permitting, for prime people-watching or snag a drink to go from the walk-up window. They also have The Fitzroy, their sister restaurant.
Gryphon Tea Room is located on the SCAD campus in a 1926 Scottish Rite building. The cozy tea room is covered in mahogany furnishings and serves seasonal local fare.
What to Do in Savannah
Don’t plan too much during your time in Savannah because most of us are there to relax. But pick one or two things to do on Saturday morning as a group. That might be roaming the stores of Broughton Street or day-tripping out to Tybee Island.
For Active Bachelorettes
Aerial yoga is a fun way to spend the day with your friends. The classes are perfect for beginners and come with silk hammocks and instruction. The studio is in Thunderbolt.
East Coast Paddleboarding has rental paddleboards or beginners can join a tour, which operates from nearby Tybee Island. The company will take you to the quiet inlets and barrier islands that make up the coast. Get a discount on your rental here.
Tybee Island is Savannah’s closest beach and is a short drive, where you can go for a swim or just lay out. You can also have a drink on the beach thanks to local alcohol laws. If you’re looking for a fun activity, try the Tybee Island Dolphin Tour.
For Foodie Bachelorettes
The American Prohibition Museum covers America’s failed experiment with exhibits on Savannah’s boozy past and even its own speakeasy. They also offer cocktail classes. Get The American Prohibition Museum Admission Ticket before you go.
Savannah Taste Experience allows visitors a behind-the-scenes look at restaurants, offering bites not found on the menu or access to places before they’re open to the public. Book your spot on a tour.
Ghost Coast Distillery is Savannah’s only craft distillery, making flavored whiskey, vodka, rum, and gin. You can stop by their tasting room for a cocktail made with their liquors.
For Shopaholic Bachelorettes
Broughton Street Adam Turoni
Sip n Shop Savannah Tours is Savannah’s only shopping tour and brings guests to some of the city’s best stores. Best of all, you can bring drinks with you to sip along the way. Book your tour here.
Paris Market & Brocante is the ultimate place to explore, selling everything from home decor to jewelry to gifts. They have their own coffee shop as well. Be prepared to want to purchase everything in sight.
Indulge your sweet tooth at Chocolat By Adam Turoni, one of two shops by the young culinary school graduate. Whimsical chocolates and truffles make for the perfect gift for your friends or souvenirs for yourself. Visit on the Coffee and Chocolate Tour.
For Pampered Bachelorettes
Savannah Day Spa is the city’s top-rated day spa, located in an 1800s home. Services include manicures, pedicures, facials, massages, and waxing. The Westin Spa across the harbor is another favorite for its Heavenly products.
Polished Beauty Lounge is the perfect place for a manicure and pedicure with top-notch nail polish and nail art offerings. They also offer skincare treatment, waxing, and threading.
Get a blow out before your evening on the town at Let It Blo, a salon in the historic district. They have packages for weddings, bridal parties, and everyday occasions.
Where to Drink in Savannah
Savannah is a city that loves to imbibe, especially on River Street where you can carry open containers of alcohol without getting in trouble. Many bars even have “go cups.” But branch out to other neighborhoods to see what the nightlife scene is all about.
For Swanky Rooftop Views
Rooftop bars are a dime a dozen in Savannah, but The Perch is unique because it overlooks Forsyth Park. Sleek furnishings embrace the natural surroundings. Stop by for happy hour and nosh on their bar bites.
The Grove is a fun spot near the City Market has a full menu of food and beer, wine, and cocktails. They have a daily happy hour for your girl gang.
Near River Street, Rocks on the Roof at the Bohemian Hotel has a full menu of local seafood as well as cocktails. There are both indoor and outdoor seating. Top Deck Bar at The Cotton Sail Hotel also has panoramic views of the Savannah River.
The Lost Square is the Alida Hotel’s rooftop bar has cozy chairs and a fire pit for chilly evenings. Peregrin at the Perry Lane Hotel has a stylish mural, bocce ball, and poolside daybeds.
For Craft Cocktail Bars
Jen’s & Friends is known for their funky martinis but there’s nothing quite like the Birthday Cake Martini, made with a candle and piece of cake garnish. Most will cost about $10 so you don’t need many!
Alleycat Lounge is underground and has a massive cocktail menu organized into the type of alcohol. Choose from classic cocktails or the mixologists’ own concoctions. They also serve food.
If you want a small bar with a big menu, Artillery is the most beautiful space in town. Share a dimly lit velvet booth with your pals over creative cocktails.
For Laid Back Beer Bars
Starland Yard is a fun container ship park in the Starland District, which is ideal for day drinking with a pizzeria, food trucks, and a bar. You can also play lawn games like cornhole.
Savannah also has a handful of craft breweries. Two Tides Brewing is next door to Starland Yard and has a mini bar, Smol, located in the former storage area. Southbound, Service, Coastal Empire, White Whale, and Moon River are a few others.
Pinkie Masters is Savannah’s original dive bar, dating back to 1953. The cash-only establishment has affordable drinks like $3 beers and $5 well cocktails.
For Live Entertainment
Get drinks and entertainment at Savannah Smiles, the city’s only dueling pianos bar. Order shots and bottles of bubbles for your gang and jam to all styles of music until 3 am.
There aren’t many places to go dancing in Savannah, but El-Rocko Lounge is a fun bar with a vinyl jukebox full of hits. Sip on draft cocktails and catch a live music act.
If you can find someone with a key, go to Mata Hari’s Speakeasy, a moody speakeasy. On any given night, you’ll see a diverse crowd, live music, and cocktails. Ask your hotel concierge how to get in.
Pay your respects to the late Lady Chablis (of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil fame) at Club One, Savannah’s only downtown drag show. It’s one of the stops on the Yes Queen Drag Show Pub Crawl.
Where to Stay in Savannah
Andaz Savannah Kimpton Brice
Savannah has more accommodation options than you’re likely to find in any other mid-sized city that are perfect for you and your gals. Don’t forget about rentals, either.
Thunderbird Inn is a blast from the past with a familiar neon sign and vintage furnishings. Rates are affordable and the hotel is a short walk from Savannah’s top attractions.
Andaz Savannah has free snacks and drinks and a welcome cocktail as well as WiFi. It’s on Ellis Square and steps away from the Savannah City Market and River Street.
The Brice, a Kimpton Hotel is a sunny Kimpton property on East Bay Street with a seasonal outdoor pool, Savannah-specific mini bar items, and perks like free coffee and happy hour.
Rentals are also ideal for a group of friends, which you can find on sites like Airbnb (use my link for a discount!) and VRBO. Lucky Savannah is a local rental company. And don’t forget about Tybee Island rentals like the ones from Mermaid Cottages!

Additional Advice for Bachelorettes
Plan for an early night on Friday since everyone will likely be traveling. This is the perfect time to enjoy games and chill drinks. I found this wedding-style Cards Against Humanity (Cads Against Matrimony) that was a hit with the group. I printed it off at home and cut up the cards myself for free. At other bachelorette parties, we’ve done the game where you guess which pair of panties represents which guest and the bride keeps them all.
Keep the party going with this awesome playlist from PopSugar. Pick up some custom temporary tattoos to keep your group together as well as some phallic paraphernalia online. My crafty friend made cutout faces of the groom to carry around as well as tote bags and tanks for our most recent bachelorette. We even made a Snapchat filter that worked around the house and the beach.
If you’re renting a place, cut costs by eating a few meals in. I made a breakfast dish, hashbrown casserole, to enjoy in the mornings as well as bagels. Split the snacks between the group. Make splitting costs easy by making everyone download Splitwise and Venmo before you go.
Stop drinking early enough in the day that you can rally at night! I’ve been to a fair few that ended in extended naps. Take Lyft everywhere and don’t risk DUIs. Savannah is fairly laid back but you can still rent something fabulous from Rent the Runway. And thanks to those cobblestones, bring a pair of extra shoes in case your feet hurt. Tieks are my personal favorite.
