I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
I’ve gotten a handful of magazines and I try to spend my weekends actually reading them instead of letting them gather dust. At night, I read a chapter of a book. This month, it was Truth and Beauty, which tells of the friendship between writers Ann Patchett and Lucy Grealy. I’ve now moved on to Where the Crawdads Sing.
To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here (which is also my author page!).
Listening
I’m mostly spending workdays listening to music and the backlog of podcasts I have in my queue. But I’m slowly working my way through You’re Wrong About (loved the Shannon Faulkner episode!) and Uncover: Evil by Design about Peter Nygard.
Watching
This month, I’ve started some dark shows including I May Destroy You and Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered Children. Both are heavy viewing so I’ve broken it up with a rewatch of Schitt’s Creek. I’m also SO HAPPY that The Challenge: All-Stars has begun as a decades-long fan. Paramount Plus has a free trial if you want to watch.
Loving
I got my first vaccine! I honestly didn’t think that I’d be able to until much later this year. My sister and I drove to an area about 30 minutes north of our house and drove through a parking lot where the hardworking folks gave us our jabs in minutes. My second appointment is in a few weeks and I already got my free Krispy Kreme. I’m also so happy for my friends that recently welcomed babies!
Working
This month has involved lots of ups and downs. My second site made its highest revenue month in advertising to date but Airbnb suddenly shuttered its (lucrative) affiliate program.
I finished stories for Southern Living, AAA, and Simply Buckhead but my story I’d been working on for months for The Washington Post was killed. But I am also very proud of my first for InsideHook about Bill Oyster, a fly fishing expert in Blue Ridge.

Traveling
I didn’t post about it much because I wanted to enjoy it in the moment, but last month I took my (fully vaccinated) grandmother to Walt Disney World for her birthday. I may get into it in a later post but we had a great time in our Disneybound outfits and wore our masks constantly.
I’m slowly starting to plan future trips including a quick getaway to see a friend’s baby and another weekend in a North Carolina cabin for my sister’s redo of her 30th birthday.
