Where to Eat in Scottsdale
Scottsdale has a great culinary scene, with influences from Mexico and beyond. Some require reservations in advance, so check OpenTable before you go.

Prep and Pastry– The local favorite has all the classics like eggs Benedict and shakshuka, along with smoked salmon hash and chickpea scramble. They also have fresh pastries made daily.

Best for Dinner
The Americano– Run by Chef Scott Conant, the Italian-inspired steakhouse in North Scottsdale now has a second Atlanta location and both bring together fine steaks, house-made pasta, and creative cocktails. The bolognese is a personal favorite!
Citizen Public House– The James Beard nominated restaurant is one of the best in town, with upscale American cuisine. Popular dishes include pork belly pastrami and yellowfin tuna. The chopped salad was another favorite plus the barrel-aged cocktails.
The Mission– The moody interior of this space is a cozy spot for dinner. The menu features Latin flavors and an extensive wine list from South America and beyond.
Best for Brunch
The Boozy– You know what to expect from a place with this name, including piled-high French toast and bowls. The bar offers elevated mimosas and a “build your own mule” option.
Hash Kitchen– The high-energy brunch spot has the state’s largest build-your-own Bloody Mary bar and is the perfect spot to go with the girls. Expect hashes, over-the-top pancakes, and chilaquiles.
The Montauk– Inspired by the Hamptons locale, this spot is buzzy, especially during the themed brunches. There’s often a DJ and plentiful menu options to share with friends like the chips and dip and Mediterranean platter.
What to Do in Scottsdale
Don’t plan too much during your time in Scottsdale because most of us are there to relax. But pick one or two things to do on Saturday morning as a group. That might be roaming the art galleries downtown or checking out a local winery or even a party bike tour through Old Town.
For Active Bachelorettes
There’s plenty to do if you’re into getting the blood flowing, including hikes at Camelback Mountain and a stroll through the Desert Botanical Garden offers the world’s finest collection of arid-land plants from deserts around the world.
Tubing on the Salt River is a popular way to cool off, especially during the summer months, and Top Golf is another fun way to spend the day. Book a Camelback E-Bike & Hike Tour or explore on your own, but bring plenty of water!
For Oenophiles
You might not know that Arizona has its own wine country! Most of the wineries are set a bit further out of town, but Old Town Scottsdale is full of tasting rooms where you can sample the varieties. LDV Winery offers award-winning wines that are vegan, zero residual sugar, gluten-free, and additive-free.
Wine Girl is a popular wine bar where you can enjoy a wide variety of styles. Merkin Vineyards is another favorite, produced on 110 acres of estate vineyards in the Verde Valley. You can also see the region for yourself by booking a Verde Valley Wine Tasting tour.
For Culture Vultures
Start your trip with a Scottsdale Public Art Tour with JoyRidesAZ, which takes visitors to murals and highlights around in a covered golf cart. Another can’t miss is the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), which boasts the best of contemporary art, architecture and design from around the corner and around the globe with rotating exhibits throughout the year.
Further afield, Cosanti was the gallery, studio, and residence of Italian-American architect Paolo Soleri, known for his futuristic designs and bronze and ceramic wind bells. He studied at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the famed architect lived until his death.
For Pampered Bachelorettes
Scottsdale is a total spa lover’s city. Every major hotel has its own spa, including The Scott, where I got a massage. Treatments range from hot stone treatments to mud bathing to traditional massages and facials. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, The Spa at the Boulders Resort, and The Phoenician are all known for their spa offerings.
If you’re looking to join a yoga class, many offer drop-in rates around town. CorePower, Hot Yoga University, and Blue Buddha Collective all have offerings for visiting yogis. You can also book a private class for you and your crew.

Where to Drink in Scottsdale
Scottsdale has a little bit of everything, whether you’re looking for Old West-style dive bars, poolside day clubs, Instagrammable cocktail bars, or tropical tiki spots. It’s entirely possible to get around on foot or order an Uber, so skip the car if you plan on imbibing.
For Colorful Tiki Bars and Vintage Drinks
Scottsdale is a hub for tropical drinking culture, hosting an annual gathering for lovers of all things tiki. The Drunk Munk is a classic tiki bar with brightly colored decor and a happy hour menu with discounted snacks and mai tais. Hula’s Modern Tiki is, as the name implies, a modern interpretation with tropical dishes and updated versions of classic drinks.
For Poolside Cocktails and Day Drinking
The best way to party while staying cool is at the city’s day clubs and pool clubs. Maya Dayclub is the most popular with DJs, lawn games, and VIP bottle service. The circular OH Pool at Hotel Valley Ho gets lively on weekends, with cabanas and daybeds. The Wet Deck at the W Scottsdale is an adults-only haven open 24 hours a day that also hosts weekend parties.
For laid-back drinks and chill vibes
Even if you’re not staying there, don’t miss ZuZu at Hotel Valley Ho for retro vibes and delightful cocktails. Happy hour has some great bargains on beer and cocktails. Established in 2016, Scapegoat Beer and Wine is a small Scottsdale craft beer and wine bar that prides itself on providing exceptional service.
Where to Stay in Scottsdale
Scottsdale has hundreds of options in terms of where to stay so it depends on just how big your group is. If you don’t mind sharing, the hotels are unmatched, with pools to cool off and incredible amenities.
Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows– This resort takes its inspiration from the midcentury modern designers who made many of Scottsdale’s iconic buildings. Unwind in the bungalows and book a poolside cabana for a relaxing day.
Hotel Valley Ho– The historic hotel opened in 1956 and has hosted a wide array of celebrities from Bing Crosby to Zsa Zsa Gabor. The 241-room has motel-style rooms as well as sprawling suites in the tower, as well as two pools, a spa, and an onsite restaurant.
The Scott Resort & Spa– The Mission-inspired boutique hotel in Old Town is full of light with a plant-filled lobby. The 204 rooms are set around the two pools, including a sand-bottom pool popular with families. The full-service spa offers massages and other treatments.
Sonder The Monarch– The apartment-style hotel has amenities like full kitchens so that you can save money on meals out. There’s also a pool, parking, and a fitness center.
Additional Advice for Bachelorettes
Plan for an early night on Friday since everyone will likely be traveling. This is the perfect time to enjoy games and chill drinks. I found this wedding-style Cards Against Humanity (Cads Against Matrimony) that was a hit with the group. I printed it off at home and cut up the cards myself for free. At other bachelorette parties, we’ve done the game where you guess which pair of panties represents which guest and the bride keeps them all.
Keep the party going with this awesome playlist from PopSugar. Pick up some custom temporary tattoos to keep your group together as well as some phallic paraphernalia online. My crafty friend made cutout faces of the groom to carry around as well as tote bags and tanks for our most recent bachelorette.
If you’re renting a place, cut costs by eating a few meals in. I made a breakfast dish, hashbrown casserole, to enjoy in the mornings as well as bagels. Split the snacks between the group. Make splitting costs easy by making everyone download Splitwise and Venmo before you go.
Stop drinking early enough in the day that you can rally at night! I’ve been to a fair few that ended in extended naps. Take Lyft everywhere and don’t risk DUIs. Scottsdale is fairly laid back but you can still rent something fabulous from Rent the Runway. Bring a pair of extra shoes in case your feet hurt. Tieks are my personal favorite.
