I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
After a friend kept recommending What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding by Kristin Newman, she finally got sick of me saying I’d get around to it and bought it and had it shipped to my house. I got the hint, Sarah! I quickly read it in a week and really enjoyed the travel memoir. I found myself relating to the author in many regards.

Listening
I’m looking for new podcasts! I’ve listened to the first episodes of The Shrink Next Door and The Clearing but need to pick both back up. I also got to see two of my favorite podcasts live here in Atlanta: Heather McMahan’s live show and the Trashy Divorces live show.
Watching
I loved the first season of Mindhunter, although had to watch slowly between episodes of friends. So when I found out that season 2 would include the infamous Atlanta Child Murders, I knew I couldn’t not watch. If you don’t know about this case, it was featured in the podcast Atlanta Monster, which is a good place to start. The case has also been reopened so who knows what’s next!
Loving
I’m going to humble brag for a minute and mention that my trivia team, the Hawkins AV Club, has won two weeks in a row. Our nerdiness knows no bounds.
Speaking of nerdiness, I recently got to go on a Stranger Things tour around Atlanta, which I recently covered on my other site. That’s how I got to see Hopper’s cabin, pictured at the top! I’m also loving daily writing prompts from Writing Class Radio and my new Tortuga bag that I’ll be writing about soon.
Working
This has been a tough month for a variety of reasons, but definitely for professional ones. I’ve lost some clients and am in limbo so I’ve been worried about where my next paycheck is coming from. I’ve even applied for some jobs. But I have also been working on my memoir and sending out pitches to some big outlets. My newest story is this guide to using points for a trip to Savannah for The Points Guy.

Traveling
My travel schedule is rapidly cranking up again after a brief hiatus. In late July, I went to Montgomery, Alabama. The next week, I spent a long day driving to and from Charlotte, North Carolina to attend a Mediavine event. I went back to North Carolina the next week for a visit to Winston-Salem and Beech Mountain.
In the next few weeks, I’ll be heading up to Franklin, Tennessee to attend the Pilgrimage Music Festival and then to Virginia for MATPRA, a Mid-Atlantic travel conference.
I’ve also had some hard times as a family this month as we lost my uncle. If you feel like you have something to contribute, I’d greatly appreciate your support of the American Liver Foundation.
