I’ve come to look forward to these monthly posts about what I’m into beyond travel because there’s so much more to my life than where I go, despite the fact that it’s something I love. It’s funny how many people respond with their obsessions or agree with mine! As with last month, I’m sharing the things I’m obsessed with at the moment. Thanks for following along! Be sure to share what you’re loving this month below!

Reading
First of all, can you believe this is the last month of 2020? What an insane 12 months it’s been. We survived an election and the world will likely spin for another four years at least. I feel hopeful again in a way I haven’t in a long time.
I’ve gotten a lot of reading done in the past few weeks, partially for research and for fun. I finished reading Burden and also read The Paris Wife and Wanderlust, which I’ll admit wasn’t my favorite. Now I’m reading Tracks and Breaking Hate.
To see what else I’m reading, check out my Goodreads Profile here (which is also my author page!).
Listening
In terms of podcasts, I’m currently listening to Fight Night, another podcast set in Atlanta about a robbery that occurred during a Muhammad Ali fight. I’ve also listened to Sounds Like Hate, a series from the Southern Poverty Law Center about people leaving hate groups.
Watching
I had a lot of time to catch up on shows when I was in North Georgia, specifically Jamestown and Riviera. I also watched The Morning Show in its entirety and it absolutely lives up to the hype. I’m also most of the way through the new season of The Crown.
Loving
I’m trying not to buy from Amazon and the big box stores this time of year, but it’s easier said than done. I have gone to For Keeps, a local bookstore in Atlanta‘s historic Sweet Auburn neighborhood that specializes in the work of African American writers. I’ve also been taking advantage of sales at Everlane, my favorite brand for jeans, and Andie, which makes fantastic swimsuits.
Working
I’ve had a blessedly good time in terms of work lately, taking on some projects for Explore Georgia and a Tennessee tourism organization. I’ve also got new stories out for October and HowStuffWorks. I’m working on other stories for Mental Floss and Southern Living. And I completed a course about online investigation through the Knight Center.
If you’d like to see more of my work, visit my professional website, CarolineEubanks.com, for more information. If you got a copy of my book, review it on Amazon or Goodreads. Or you can sign up for one of my online writing classes.
Traveling
At the beginning of November, my sister and I drove down to the Florida Panhandle for a wedding. The mask situation wasn’t ideal, but the fresh seafood was incredible. From there, I spent two weeks working on a book at a writers retreat.
I’m taking my final trip of the year this week to St. Simon’s Island, a place I’ve visited many times over the years. I’ll be checking out a new hotel safely after getting a test.
